File Library — your files, one place
What it is
The File Library is the single place to find every file you have on OrbitingFox — files you upload here, attachments from your Winks, and files kept inside Projects, Goals and Business records. It works like the file explorer on your computer: drives contain folders, folders contain subfolders and files.
Finding your way around
- 🏠 File Library (home) — Quick Access cards (the OrbitPilot AI Folder, Wink Files, Uploads, Recycle Bin), your drives, and a search box that finds anything you own.
- Browse — open a drive, click through folders, switch between Icons / Details / Gallery views, and use ☑ Select for bulk move / download / delete.
- 🔍 Search — a flat list of everything you own with a type filter (images, PDFs, audio, …).
- 🔗 App Files — a read-only mirror of files that live inside your Projects, Goals and Business records. Click a row to jump back to the original record; to delete one, open its source record.
- 🗑️ Recycle Bin — there is exactly ONE bin. Deleting a file moves it here (restorable); deleting a folder moves the folder's files here and removes the empty folder structure.
System folders (🔒)
Folders marked 🔒 are managed by OrbitingFox — you can browse them and add files, but the folder itself can't be renamed, moved, or deleted. They exist so other apps always have a reliable place to put files (e.g. Wink Files receives every Wink attachment automatically). Two of them accept your own subfolders: OrbitPilot Files (organise what the AI reads) and Uploads (your default landing folder).
The AI and your files
The AI reads ONLY what you put in the 🤖 OrbitPilot AI Folder. Everything else in your library stays invisible to OrbitPilot — that keeps private files private and your AI credits low. Files the AI can currently read carry a small 🤖 badge, and the folder shows a live "AI can see N files" count.
Good to know
- Old links keep working — bookmarks to the previous sections redirect to the new ones automatically.
- "Recycle Bin" is a reserved name — you can't create your own folder with that name.
- The storage bar on the home page counts your uploads AND the files mirrored from other apps.
