Help & Manual
OrbitingFox helps you catch important signals, organize them, and turn them into progress. Start simple: catch one Wink, shape it later, and connect it to the goal it supports.
Quick Start
You do not need to use every feature at once. Start with one Wink.
- Step 1 — Catch a Wink
When something comes to mind, capture it quickly. It can be a note, idea, task, reminder, expense, event, file, message, or observation. - Step 2 — Shape the Wink
Add details when you are ready. You can add a category, date, reminder, file, goal, project, business, or finance information. - Step 3 — Work the Wink
Do the task, expand the idea, make the call, attend the event, review the file, complete the reminder, assign it to someone, or ask OrbitPilot to help understand related context. - Step 4 — Send a Wink
When the Wink or its result is ready, share it with another person, team, space, or workflow. - Step 5 — Review your orbit
Use dashboards, calendars, files, and profiles to see how your Winks connect to the bigger picture.
Creating a Wink
Open the Wink Workspace and expand the capture form. At minimum, enter a title. You can keep the Wink simple at first, or add more structure using the available fields.
- Use the basic fields for a quick note or idea.
- Choose task, reminder, or event options when the Wink has a date or action.
- Add categories to make searching easier.
- Link the Wink to a Goal, Project, or Business when it supports something larger.
- Attach files when the Wink needs documents, images, audio, or other evidence.
- Save the Wink and return later to shape or work on it.
Connecting Winks to Goals
Goals are Stars in OrbitingFox. When you connect a Wink to a Goal, you give that Wink direction. This helps you understand why the note, task, file, expense, or event matters.
- Create or choose a Goal.
- Link related Winks to that Goal.
- Use Projects or Business records when the work needs more structure.
- Review the Goal over time to see what is orbiting around it.
Using Calendar and Kanban
Calendar and Kanban help you see timing and progress.
- Task Winks can appear by due date.
- Reminder Winks can appear by reminder time.
- Event Winks can appear across their start and end window.
- Kanban helps you move task-type Winks through stages such as To Do, In Progress, and Done.
Managing Files
Files should stay connected to the work they support. You can attach files to Winks or organize them in File Management.
- Upload images, PDFs, documents, audio, and supported files.
- Attach files directly to a Wink when they belong to that signal.
- Use folders when you need broader file organization.
- Keep important documents connected to goals, projects, or business records whenever possible.
Using OrbitPilot
OrbitPilot is the navigation intelligence layer of OrbitingFox. Its role is to help you understand your own information and prepare better next steps.
- Ask questions about selected Winks, files, goals, projects, or business context.
- Find related information faster.
- Summarize patterns or missing context.
- Prepare better next actions.
OrbitPilot should guide your decisions. Important actions should still be reviewed by you before they are taken.
Using the App Launcher
Click the 9-dot icon in the top-right corner of any page. The app launcher opens the available OrbitingFox modules. Use it to move between Winks, Goals, Projects, Business, Calendar, File Management, Orbit, OrbitPilot, and other tools.
Timezone Settings
Your timezone is set at signup and can be changed from your profile page. Due dates, reminders, and event windows are stored safely and displayed in your local timezone when possible.
