Remove a file you attached to a Blink
How to remove a file
- Open the Blink and choose Edit.
- Scroll to the Files card. Each file has a Delete button.
- Confirm. The file leaves this Blink and moves to your Recycle Bin.
Changed your mind?
Deleting a file never removes it for good straight away. Open the File Library, go to the Recycle Bin and restore it: it returns to the folder it came from and appears on the same Blink again. Files left in the Recycle Bin are cleared automatically after a while.
Good to know
- Only the person who owns the Blink can remove its files.
- Deleting a file from a Blink and deleting it in the File Library do exactly the same thing.
- Images and voice notes keep their own Delete buttons on the same page.
For developers: blink/views_crud.py blink_file_delete calls
filemgmt.services.recycle_file, the one definition of a file delete that the File Library's
single and bulk delete also use. Binned files are filtered from the Blink edit and detail pages. Tests:
