Why the Site's Colours Sometimes Change

The site can change colour — here is what that means for you

OrbitingFox lets whoever runs your site choose a colour theme. The one you see may therefore not be the one in the screenshots elsewhere in these guides, and it can change from one day to the next — for example to something seasonal, or to a dark theme.

What changes

Only colours. Backgrounds, buttons, highlights and headings may look different. Where things are and how they work does not change: the same menus, the same buttons, in the same places.

What does not change

Each app keeps its own colour so you can still tell them apart at a glance — Winks, Goals, Projects, Business, Finance and the rest each have a recognisable accent colour. A theme may shift those shades, but it keeps them distinct.

If something looks wrong

Occasionally after a theme change a page can look half-updated for a few seconds, because colours are briefly remembered by the site to keep pages fast. Refresh once and it settles.

If text is genuinely hard to read against its background, that is worth reporting — use the error-report button. Include which page you were on and, if you can, a screenshot. Readability problems are treated as real bugs, not personal preference.

Can I choose my own theme?

Not currently. The theme is a single site-wide setting chosen by your administrator, so everyone sees the same one. Per-person themes are not available today.
